Replacement Parts
Many older skylights, particularly those that are 20 years or older, had less UV Resistance than the current range of products available. A common request is for a Replacement Skylight Dome or Diffuser.
DIFFUSERS
We can cut diffusers for just about any size skylight, and offer a few different textures. If you bring in your old piece we can cut it exactly the same size, or if you can’t bring it in, please double check your measurements….
- P12 Prismatic (Clear) – 3mm
- P15 Prismatic (Clear) – 4.5mm
- Eggcrate (Opal)*
- Seadrift (Clear)
- Not Shown – Flat Opal – No texture
DOMES
Whilst most skylight companies use similar domes, they are not all the same. If you bring in your old dome, we can see if we have one the same or similar to replace it. The two most common types are:
DIRECT SKYLIGHT DOME
This dome is secured using Roofing Tek Screws. It also has a vertical overhang running around the edge of the dome. Sizing is approx 60 – 80mm larger than the throat size of the skylight. ie. A 500mm x 500mm Direct Skylight will have a dome 560mm x 560mm overall size. Roll mouse over image for a close up of the edge of the Direct Skylight dome.

SUNLITE SKYLIGHT DOME
This dome is secured using metal capping. It also has a flat flange of approx 20 – 30mm running around the edge of the dome. Sizing is also approx 60 – 80mm larger than the throat size of the skylight. ie. A 510mm x 510mm Sunlite Skylight will have a dome 570mm x 570mm overall size.
